Ao mesmo tempo

October 1, 2009

As if the world had chosen that particular spot to demonstrate its immensity, simplicity, and complexity all at once.  As if we could – and should – be like the steppes, empty, infinite and full of life all at once.

                                               –Paulo Coelho, O Zahir

This is exactly how I feel standing atop Charging Horse Hill in Lame Deer, Montana, every evening as I watch the sun set.  I feel simple and complex, empty and full all at the same time.  Simply enjoying the moment while relishing the complexity of nature’s presentation.  Empty of worries, fears, frustrations but full of energy and eagerness.  It’s a hard sensation to put into words, but Paulo Coelho did a fantastic job as he described a similar sensation in the steppes of Kazakhstan.
