Fruits of life

November 14, 2008

“The true harvest of my daily life is somewhat as intangible and indescribable as the tints of morning or evening.  It is a little star-dust caught, a segment of the rainbow which I have clutched.”
(Henry David Thoreau)

I can’t describe exactly what it is that I get out of being here on this stretch of land in southeastern Montana, in this Northern Cheyenne community.  But the peace and contentedness I feel every day leaves me feeling lightweight and exuberant, as if I’m floating on the very essence of life.  Nature, nurture, and necessity blend into one such that life no longer feels compartmentalized, but complete.
