White Christmas

December 20, 2007

I just stepped outside to get the mail and was met by thick, white
snowflakes falling from the night sky.  Their light presence in
the still evening made me forget about the $550 broken radiator and
15-page paper I had to deal with today, at least for a beautiful, brief
moment of calm.  It’s moments like these that make life worth
living, even on days I’d otherwise rather not relive.  Joy, even
in small bundles, penetrates much deeper than frustration.
