Note about last entry

February 24, 2006

Paul and I had dinner with two scientific friends on Monday night (one’s a PhD candidate in physics and the other has been accepted into medical school), both of whom laughed when we mentioned the movie What the bleep do we know?  Apparently the quantum physicists in the film are a selection of non mainstream physicists who aren’t representative at all of the typical quantum physicist’s views and beliefs.  The film was quite quacky, although I maintain that it presents some interesting ideas and possibilities worth pondering.  Besides, weren’t most of the famous scientists we admire today (Newton, Einstein, etc.) ridiculed for their theories during their lifetimes?
